| New Engine 41 to be placed in service this month! |
Tue. Mar 9th 2010
EVFC is proud to announce that new Engine 41 will be place in service by the end of this month. After many months of hard work by the members of the company and our ACFR career staff, all of the projects that needed to happen have been finished. While we had hoped to have the truck in service much sooner, several winter storms significantly delayed our ability to train the members on the piece. One of the last items to be installed was the new TNT Hydraulic Rescue Tools, using the Nexus system that allows us to use a single connection to hook up our tools versus the traditional 2 connections. This setup will also allow us to be able to hot-swap tools without having to depressurize the hydraulic lines. Old Engine 41and new Engine 41 will go to the radio shop shortly to have the 800 MHz radio swapped, which will complete the transition. After the truck returns, members will swap over any remaining equipment from the old engine over to the new one and the truck will officially be placed in service.
