We are always looking for volunteers that can help us on many different levels. We are looking for volunteers that are interested in joining the operational side, administrative side, as well as the support side.
The operational side of our fire company consists of Firefighters, EMTs, and Drivers/Pump Operators. All training is free for members and all gear will be provided by EVFC. Firefighter and EMT positions requires approximately 3-6 months to achieve the basic level. Once you’ve achieved the basic level, more training classes are offered for any specialty interests, such as, Technical Rescue, Vehicle Extrication and Stabilization, and HAZMAT.
EVFC is also proud to have a Junior Program for young men and women aged 16 to 18. Junior members participate in a duty crew and become familiarized with EVFC’s Fire, EMS, and administrative operations. With parental consent, Juniors may be involved in basic training courses offered through the county’s training division. This a great opportunity for those interested in Fire & EMS to develop unique leadership skills that will help in preparation for school and beyond.
We are also looking for administrative or support volunteers. This is a great way to volunteer and help your community if you are not able to commit to training and duty crews or the physical aspect of the operational side. The administrative side of the fire company consists of the many committees that keep us running. Some of the committees inlcude: Buildings and Grounds, Membership, Recruitment and Retention, Public Relations, Fund Raising, and the Banquet Hall.
Any time or other assistance that you can give is greatly appreciated. Feel free to contact the recruitment team if you are interested in volunteering!!
